Owning a small business is never easy, but working for an intermediary helped him gain the knowledge of how a business should be running.
The intermediaries would offer Mr. Garcia jobs and he would have to rely on them to make sure his family had the basic necessities. Last year Garsa Spray Deck & Cool Deck finally received their license to work independently and not rely on intermediaries.
Our beginning
In the beginning, Joel Garcia, owner of Garsa Spray Deck & Cool Deck, worked for other pool companies that did Gunite and plaster. These companies were managed by his brothers, each one putting him to handle everything spray deck related. In the pool contractor field, Mr. Garcia has worked for 21 years. By this time, Mr. Garcia had a family and realized working for others wasn’t helping his family financially. This is how Garsa Spray Deck & Cool Deck was created.
Because Mr. Garcia had brothers already in the pool plastering and Gunite business, he wanted to focus on another specialty and decided on spray deck—especially since he had already gained experience and worked for other companies as a spray deck subcontractor.
